It all started with a dream…

SwimEye’s story began in 2004, when Torodd Buer, one of our founders, had a dream that his child was drowning. That moment sparked an idea—and a mission. Together with the other co-founder Oral Sjøflot, the company was established in 2005 and the first prototype of SwimEye was developed together with local partners and swimming clubs.

Our mission has always been clear: make swimming pools safer for everyone. What started as a vision to prevent drowning accidents has grown into a trusted technology partner for aquatic facilities across Europe.

Today, SwimEye’s intelligent drowning detection system helps lifeguards respond faster when every second counts. We continue to push boundaries, improve our technology, and work closely with pool operators to create safe environments where people can enjoy the water with confidence.

Over the years, we have grown to become the market leader in Norway and today we have numbers of installations across Europe. Every day, our system monitors thousands of swimmers—helping to prevent drowning accidents and save lives.
