SwimEye is proud to be an active participant in ISO/TC 83/WG 11, a working group under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The goal of this initiative is to develop a global standard for technology that can identify drowning risks before an accident occurs.
At the core of this work is the identification of drowning signatures – the characteristic movements and patterns in the water that appear before a person loses control. By standardizing how such warning signals are detected and interpreted, we can help save lives.
The ambition is clear: to establish a common framework for performance, reliability, and testing of drowning detection systems – thereby enhancing safety in swimming pools and aquatic facilities worldwide. ISO/TC 83 is led by DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung), and WG 11 aims to finalize the standard by 2026.
